FBR Chairman Optimistic about Meeting Revenue Collection Target

Islamabad, March 10, 2024 – Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana, Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), has expressed his confidence in achieving the revenue collection target for the fiscal year 2023-24.

His positive outlook was shared during the passing out ceremony of the Inland Revenue Service (IRS) Officers of the 50th Specialized Training Program (STP) held at the IRS Academy in Lahore.

Addressing the significance of tax collection and compliance, Chairman Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana lauded the efforts of IRS officers in ensuring the effective implementation of tax laws throughout the country. He expressed optimism about meeting the revenue collection target for the ongoing fiscal year, citing the commitment and dedication of the IRS officers as crucial factors in this endeavor.

During the ceremony, Chairman Tiwana extended his congratulations to the officers for successfully completing the rigorous STP and wished them success in their future careers. He acknowledged the pivotal role played by the IRS Academy’s Director General in providing quality training to the officers.

Highlighting the importance of continuous learning and development, Chairman Tiwana encouraged the graduating officers to apply their newly acquired skills to enhance tax administration in Pakistan. He emphasized that a well-trained and knowledgeable workforce is essential for efficient tax collection and management.

The graduating officers, comprising the 50th batch of the STP, were presented with certificates and awards in recognition of their outstanding performance during the year-long training program. The ceremony marked the successful conclusion of their intensive training, symbolizing the beginning of a new chapter in their careers.

The STP is a comprehensive training initiative designed to equip IRS officers with the skills and knowledge necessary for the effective execution of their future responsibilities. The 50th batch, consisting of 25 officers, underwent a thorough training program covering various aspects of tax administration to prepare them for the challenges ahead.

As the graduating officers prepare to join the ranks of Assistant Commissioner IRS in field offices, they are poised to play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with tax laws and contributing to the overall revenue collection efforts of the country.
