Samsung Electronics has revealed the integration of SeeColors mode into its latest TV and monitor lineup for 2023.
This new accessibility feature aims to provide an enhanced viewing experience for individuals with color vision deficiency (CVD) by offering a range of customizable color settings.
SeeColors mode includes nine picture presets, allowing users to choose the option that best suits their specific needs. By adjusting the levels of red, green, and blue, this feature ensures that colors on the screen are easily distinguishable based on the user’s degree and type of CVD.
Originally introduced as an application in 2017, SeeColors has been immensely helpful in enabling individuals with CVD to enjoy their screens as intended. Now integrated directly into the accessibility menus of Samsung TVs and monitors, this feature is more easily accessible to users. For those who have already purchased a 2023 model, a software update will be made available to add SeeColors to the accessibility menu.
Samsung’s commitment to accessibility has been recognized through the “Color Vision Accessibility” certification awarded by TÜV Rheinland. This certification acknowledges the effectiveness of SeeColors mode in enhancing the content viewing experience for individuals with CVD on Samsung screens. It further reinforces Samsung’s dedication to inclusivity, aligned with their vision of “Screens Everywhere, Screens for All.”
Seokwoo Jason Yong, the Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, expressed his enthusiasm about the introduction of additional accessibility features, such as SeeColors and Relumino mode, in the 2023 TV and monitor lineup. These features aim to assist individuals with color blindness and low vision. He emphasized Samsung’s commitment to innovation and bringing inclusive technologies closer to their consumers under the vision of “Screens Everywhere, Screens for All.”
