SRB registers remarkable collection growth of 28% in March 2023

KARACHI: Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has registered remarkable growth of 28 percent in revenue collection in the month of March 2023.

According to a statement issued on Sunday, the provincial revenue body collected Rs19.03 billion in the month of March 2023 as compared with Rs14.89 billion in the same month of the last year, showing a remarkable growth of 28 percent.

The revenue collection of the SBR during first nine months (July – March) 2022-2023 stood at Rs128.21 billion as compared with the collection of Rs104.80 billion, showing a growth of 22 percent.

The SRB attributed the success in achieving the revenue growth of 28 percent during March, 2023 to the continued trust and cooperation of the taxpayers, the continuous support by the Government of Sindh and the relentless efforts of the SRB officers and staff.

Sindh Revenue Board is focused to achieve the assigned revenue target of Rs. 180 billion for the current financial year 2022-23, despite all adverse factors such as the recent devastating floods and its continuing effect in Sindh and also despite the overall low economic growth.

The SRB is a semi-autonomous organization established by the Government of Sindh, Pakistan, under the Sindh Revenue Board Act, 2011.

The SRB is responsible for formulating and implementing tax policies in the province of Sindh and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. It also works towards improving tax administration and providing efficient and effective services to taxpayers.

In addition to its tax collection and administration functions, the SRB also carries out research and analysis to support policy development, and provides training and capacity building to tax officials and other stakeholders.
