FBR Officials Given Deadline for Furnishing Asset Declaration

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has set a deadline of July 15, 2023, for all officers of the Inland Revenue Services (IRS) and Pakistan Customs Services (PCS) to submit their Declaration of Assets and Liabilities for the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2023.

Issuing instructions on Monday, the FBR referred to the Office Memorandum of the Establishment Division and stated that, as per Rule 12 of the Government Servant (Conduct) Rules, 1964, and administrative instructions issued by the Establishment Division, all officers and officials of the FBR are required to submit their Declaration of Assets and Liabilities by July 15, 2023.

The FBR has advised all officers of the IRS, PCS, and those serving under its administrative control to promptly submit their Declaration of Assets and Liabilities for the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2023, by the given deadline.

Additionally, the FBR has requested a certificate confirming the submission of the Declaration of Assets and Liabilities to be provided to the Board by July 25, 2023.

The FBR emphasized that failure to comply with these instructions will be considered “Misconduct” under the Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 1964, and will be subject to disciplinary action under the Government Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973.
