SRB Further Extends Date for Filing Monthly Sales Tax Return

Karachi, August 17, 2023 – The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has taken a significant step to support taxpayers by granting an extension for the filing of sales tax returns for the month of July 2023.

The decision, aimed at providing relief and ensuring tax compliance, was announced through an official circular.

The SRB, a provincial revenue authority, has revised the deadlines for this crucial tax-related procedure. As per the latest circular, registered individuals and entities, including withholding agents falling under the scope of the Sindh Sales Tax Special Procedure (Withholding) Rules, 2014, have been granted the opportunity to e-deposit their Sindh sales tax amounts for the tax period of July 2023. This extension allows taxpayers to complete their required deposits on or before Monday, August 21, 2023.

In addition to the extended deposit deadline, the SRB has also pushed back the e-filing deadline for tax returns pertaining to the same tax period. Registered taxpayers now have extra time to e-file their tax returns for the month of July 2023. The new deadline for e-filing has been set as Thursday, August 24, 2023.
