PCB Probes World Cup Failure, Chief Selector Resigns

Inzamam-Ul-Haq, who took charge as the chairman of the national men’s selection committee on August 07, 2023, has resigned from his dual roles, which also included the position of chairman for the junior men’s selection committee, a post he assumed just this month.

Inzamam-Ul-Haq explained his decision, stating, “I’m resigning from my post to allow the PCB to conduct a transparent investigation into the conflict of interest allegations that have been circulating in the media. If the committee’s findings clear my name, I’m more than willing to resume my role as the chief selector.”

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed its gratitude for Inzamam’s voluntary step-down during the ongoing investigation.

The PCB has promptly established a five-member fact-finding committee tasked with delving into the allegations surrounding conflicts of interest in the team selection process, as reported in the media.

The committee is expected to provide its findings and any recommended actions to the PCB Management swiftly, ensuring a thorough and expeditious examination of the situation.
